Timbaland Apologizes To Jay-Z

Timbaland Apologizes To Jay-Z

Timbaland is copping pleas to Jay-Z and even has Keri Hilson back pedaling and apologizing to Beyoncé.

Timbo did an interview with RevoltTV and discussed his falling out with Jay-Z (not in detail) and the song he recorded as an apology.

He says “I got this one song that I did with Keri on my album called ‘Sorry,’ and Keri actually tells the story about the whole Beyoncé thing and how she was sorry about it because she wasn’t really talking about Beyoncé but other people,”.

Keri Hilson sang “She can sing, but need to move it ‘to the (left)’ / She need to go have some babies / She needs to sit down, she fadin’… / Go ‘head and tell them folks how long I been writing your songs / I been puttin you on, just check the credits.”

What other people was she talking to?

Funny I don't remember him singing any apologies to Missy after their alleged falling out....but I digress.

Story Below:

Timbaland and Jay-Z are now on good terms, but it took a while to get there.

The Magna Carta… Holy Grail producer opens up about his fallout with the hip-hop superstar and the song he recorded as an apology.

Timbaland previously told Revolt TV that he and Jay-Z did not speak for a while. “Me and Jay fell out,” said Timbo, who claims it was over “petty” and personal stuff unrelated to the industry.

In the second part of his interview, he reveals that he and Keri Hilson have recorded an apology to Jay-Z and Beyoncé for his upcoming album.

“I got this one song that I did with Keri on my album called ‘Sorry,’ and Keri actually tells the story about the whole Beyoncé thing and how she was sorry about it because she wasn’t really talking about Beyoncé but other people,” says Timbaland.

Keri was accused of dissing Beyoncé on the remix to her 2009 single “Turnin’ Me On,” but she denied that the song was about Mrs. Carter.

The track sparked controversy for its suggestive lyrics.

“Your vision cloudy if you think that you the best/ You can dance, she can sing, but need to move it to the left,” she sings.

Timbo offers his apologies to Mr. Carter on “Sorry.” “In my verse, I’m saying, ‘We cop the same Range, we talk to the same dames, same thangs, same lane.

Now we see each other, don’t even speak.

That’s f*cked up.

I missed your 40th and that hurt me so deep.

Accept my apology, my apology, ni**a please.’”

He compared the song to something Tupac would have recorded.

“The hook says, ‘I think this business make a ni**a do strange thangs…’ All I wanna say, why can’t a ni**a can’t say sorry?

Why can’t a ni**a just tell another ni**a sorry? It’s deep.”

In January Jay-Z signed Timbaland to The Roc:

Music producer and artist Timbaland signed this week with Roc Nation, the multi-faceted music org founded by fellow artist-producer Jay-Z in 2008.

Posts on both Roc Nation’s website and Jay-Z’s Life + Times blog confirm the signing, with a photo of both artists sitting in a recording studio with the caption: "Roc Nation Welcomes Timbaland To The Family."

At the time of the announcement, it was not made clear what role Timbaland will have at the company -- a record label, management company and publishing firm.

Timbaland has previously worked with artists including Missy Elliot, Destiny’s Child, Ludacris and Snoop Dogg.

He also produced the majority of tracks on Justin Timberlake’s 2006 album FutureSex/LoveSounds.

As for Jay-Z and Timbaland collaborations, the two can trace their past to 1998, when Tim produced two tracks on Jay-Z’s album Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life. From there, he’s been a producer on four of Jay-Z’s last eight albums.

The headline on the photo that was run on the Life + Times website reads, “And I Won’t Surrender It With Beats By TIMBALAND,” lyrics from a Jay-Z rapped, Timbaland-produced track titled Hola’ Hovito.

The two artists’ most recent collaboration was with Timberlake on his new single, "Suit & Tie."
