Oklahoma Teen Commits Suicide.

It has been confirmed that a boy committed suicide in the bathroom of his school on Monday morning.

Authorities have yet to confirm much information in regards to the incident. As of this time, the student’s name had yet to be released.

It has been stated that classes in the school will resume today with grief counselors on hand for availability for students as well as  staff.

Coweta police have confirmed there was a shooting at the Coweta Intermediate School.

Police are on scene and have secured the area. School officials say the shooting was a suicide.

In a news conference just after 10 am on Monday school officials said the 9th grade center will be closed the rest of the day and parents have been notified they can pick up their students at the high school gymnasium. School is not releasing further details, but said school is as normal in the rest of the district.

Coweta police are investigating the incident. The initial call came at 8:35 and three officers were on scene in seconds. Police say the school did “an outstanding job” the intermediate high school and high school were placed on lock down immediately after the shooting. Police did say there was not an armed guard at the school.

Police are on scene and have secured the area. Parents say the school contacted them and said the 9th Grade center will be closing and they are releasing 9th grade students on the north side of the high school. The high school and junior high school are still in session.

Police and school officials will have another news conference to release more details about the suicide at the school this morning at Coweta City Hall at 2pm.
