Dirty Hearts is a story of growth and redemption set in the East/Flatbush and Crown Heights sections of New York City. The series is based on the real experiences of its writer and cast who came of age in Brooklyn’s close knit and at times — volatile Panamanian community.

In order to understand the climate inherited by the characters in DIRTY HEARTS at an early age, one must know and understand the principles, exploits and history of the first generation of Panamanians to migrate to America.

COMPA! Is a mini documentary which tells the stories of Panamanians who came to the United States from 1965-1980.The above clip is one of these stories told behind the scenes of dirty hearts.
